The Pretty Side of PR: Meet our Presenter, Stephanie Scott

ImageSTEPHANIE SCOTT has been in the beauty and style industry for over a
decade. Determined to give a personalized voice to niche brands large and small, she began her own public relations and strategic marketing consulting firm – First and Last PR, LLC – which specializes in traditional and social media marketing. She has secured placements in top publications including Allure, Forbes, InStyle, Harper’s Bazaar, Flaunt, Marie Claire, The
New York Times, Vanity Fair, Vogue, W, and WWD.

She has worked with a variety of clients from seven-time Grammy Award Winner Usher to a ten city Gospel Tour featuring Yolanda Adams, Fred Hammond and Take 6; luxury to mass market beauty brands; New York Times best-selling authors to an Emmy-Award Winning former Oprah Show Producer turned decorator/author; and a women’s sportswear label to cutting-edge women’s accessory brand. A lover of fashion, beauty and all things style, she started out her career working for fashion giants Tommy Hilfiger and Kenneth Cole before working as a beauty editor for top magazines including Essence, Seventeen, Natural Health and Life & Style.

Stephanie has also contributed to several books including celebrity wrangling for
Lloyd Boston’s best-seller Before You Put That On: 365 Style Tips for Her in advance of seguing to public relations where she worked in-house as director of marketing and communications for a luxury skincare brand. In this role, Stephanie was responsible for all global public relations and marketing plans including revamping the original website into an e-Commerce site; coming up with innovative co-branding initiatives; strategic business development and opening new doors including Barneys New York, Nordstrom, Selfridge’s & Co, Harrod’s of London, Harvey Nichols and Bloomingdale’s Dubai; all global training and written materials.

As a member of New York Women In Communications Inc., Public Relations Society of America, Cosmetic Executive Women, and Fashion Group International she stays well versed and connected to the industry. Stephanie also serves as the Press Chair for She’s the First, a social media-driven nonprofit organization dedicated to helping girls in the developing world become the first to graduate from school. A graduate of Spelman College in Atlanta, Georgia, Stephanie currently serves as the Vice-President for the Northern
New Jersey Chapter of National Alumnae Association of Spelman College.
